What the advisory says
The sentence, from Mozaffarian and colleagues in 2025, is that dietary supplements can be proactively considered for at-risk nutrients, such as vitamin D, calcium, B12, or a multivitamin-mineral tablet, at appropriate doses and tailored to each person's needs.
That paper is a joint advisory from the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, the American Society for Nutrition, the Obesity Medicine Association and The Obesity Society. It is not a randomized trial of a named multivitamin in people taking semaglutide or tirzepatide. This page does not turn it into a prescription.
Protein targets from the same advisory are on best protein powder for GLP-1 users and best protein bars for GLP-1 users.
The labels we could open
Both pages below carried a Discontinued banner on October 26, 2026, and both still showed a shipment price. A later bottle can change the numbers. Read the panel in your hand against this table.
| Label | Vitamin D3 | Vitamin B12 | Calcium | Biotin | Iron | Brand price that day |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nature Made Men's Multi tablets | Vitamin D325 mcg | Vitamin B1218 mcg | Calcium160 mg | Biotin30 mcg | Ironnot in the amount list | Brand price that day$24.46 a shipment |
| Nature Made Multivitamin Tablets with Iron | Vitamin D325 mcg | Vitamin B126 mcg | Calcium160 mg | Biotin30 mcg | Iron18 mg | Brand price that day$25.18 a shipment |
The men's page says USP has tested and verified ingredients, potency and the manufacturing process. The iron page's captured text did not include that USP line. Neither page, in the text we saved, stated a tablet count, so this page does not invent one. Suggested use on both pages is one tablet a day with water and a meal, for adults.

Biotin on these labels, and lab tests
FDA's November 5, 2019 safety communication says the daily recommended allowance for biotin is 0.03 mg, and that amount does not typically cause interference in lab tests. It also says biotin can cause falsely high or falsely low results, and that the agency is particularly concerned about a falsely low troponin result.

Both tablets here list 30 mcg. That is 0.03 mg, the allowance figure FDA named. Hair, skin and nail pills are often far above that. The dose gap and the Zepbound hair-loss numbers are on best vitamins for GLP-1 hair loss. Nothing on this page says a multi regrows hair.
Common questions
Do I need a multivitamin on a GLP-1?
The 2025 advisory says a multivitamin-mineral tablet can be considered, with vitamin D, calcium or B12, at a dose matched to the person. It does not say everyone on these medicines needs one.
Which nutrients does the advisory name?
Vitamin D, calcium, B12, or a multivitamin-mineral tablet. The wording is "at appropriate doses and tailored to each person's needs."
How much vitamin D, B12 and iron are on these labels?
Men's multi: 25 mcg vitamin D3, 18 mcg B12, no iron in the amount list. Multi with iron: 25 mcg vitamin D3, 6 mcg B12, 18 mg iron. Both list 160 mg calcium and 30 mcg biotin.
Why are the Nature Made pages marked discontinued?
Both brand pages showed a Discontinued banner on October 26, 2026, and both still showed a shipment price. Check the bottle you buy. A replacement formula can change the panel.
Can the biotin in these tablets affect a lab test?
FDA says 0.03 mg of biotin does not typically interfere. These tablets list 30 mcg, which is 0.03 mg. Higher-dose biotin pills are a separate warning.
Is this a prescription?
No. The advisory is not a trial, and this page does not prescribe a tablet. A prescriber decides what you need.
Sources, methodology, and changes
Methodology. On October 26, 2026 we opened two Nature Made product pages and copied the nutrient amounts, the suggested use, the warnings and the shipment price shown. Both pages displayed a Discontinued banner. The same day Amazon.com sold ASIN B005BD8A08, a 90-tablet men's bottle, at $8.65, and ASIN B00YMSLT88, a 130-tablet bottle with iron, at $7.49. Those Amazon pages did not print the microgram amounts, so the table stays on the brand pages. The advisory sentence is from Mozaffarian et al., 2025. The biotin figures are from FDA's November 5, 2019 safety communication. We did not test either bottle.
