What the medicine labels counted
Zepbound's prescribing information, in the pool of Study 1 and Study 2, says hair loss was reported more often in women than in men: 7.1% of women and 0.5% of men on Zepbound, and 1.3% of women and 0% of men on placebo. The same paragraph says those hair-loss reports were associated with weight reduction. No Zepbound-treated patient stopped treatment because of hair loss. One placebo-treated patient did.
Table 1 on that label, reactions at or above 2% and greater than placebo, lists hair loss at 5% on 5 mg, 4% on 10 mg and 5% on 15 mg, against 1% on placebo. Placebo N was 958. The 5 mg, 10 mg and 15 mg groups were 630, 948 and 941.
Wegovy's adult table, in trials of 2.4 mg for up to 68 weeks, lists hair loss at 3% on Wegovy (N=2,116) and 1% on placebo (N=1,261). In the pediatric trial, ages 12 and older, Table 3 lists hair loss at 4% on Wegovy (N=133) and 0% on placebo (N=67).
The Wegovy label says adverse-reaction rates from clinical trials cannot be directly compared with rates from the trials of another drug. This page prints both labels. It does not rank Zepbound against Wegovy on hair loss.
Mounjaro's adverse-event table was not re-opened for this check. Mounjaro vs Zepbound is the label comparison for the molecule. The thyroid boxed warning is a different section, on semaglutide thyroid warning.
Biotin, and the lab warning
FDA's update of November 5, 2019 says biotin can cause incorrect lab results that may go undetected, falsely high or falsely low depending on the test. The agency says it is particularly concerned about a falsely low troponin result, a marker used in the diagnosis of heart attacks.
The consumer section of that communication says the daily recommended allowance for biotin is 0.03 mg, and that amount does not typically cause interference. It also says FDA is aware of many supplements with 20 mg of biotin, and some with up to 100 mg per pill, often sold for hair, skin and nails, with directions to take more than one pill a day. The name of the bottle does not always show that the dose is high.
This page did not add a hair, skin and nail gummy. We did not open a current Supplement Facts panel for one on October 26, 2026, and a high biotin dose is the product FDA flagged for lab interference. Ranking it as a hair treatment would invent a result the Zepbound label does not contain.
Bottles, sorted by the biotin line
The sort is the biotin amount on a brand page we could open, set next to FDA's 0.03 mg figure. It is not a sort by hair. Both brand pages showed a Discontinued banner. Amazon.com still sold the 90-tablet men's bottle and the 130-tablet iron bottle on October 26, 2026. The biotin amounts below are from the brand pages.
1. Nature Made Men's Multi

Biotin at the 0.03 mg allowance FDA named
30 mcg of biotin is 0.03 mg. The same label lists 25 mcg of vitamin D3, 18 mcg of vitamin B12 and 160 mg of calcium.
- 30 mcg biotin, the amount FDA says does not typically interfere with lab tests
- Iron was not in the amount list we captured
- Brand page says USP verified ingredients, potency and manufacturing
- Discontinued banner beside the $24.46 brand price
- Amazon.com one-time price $8.65 for 90 tablets
$8.65 for 90 tablets on Amazon.com, October 26, 2026
Not a hair treatment. Sold by Amazon.com. The brand page showed a Discontinued banner and $24.46 a shipment. The 30 mcg biotin line is from the brand page.

Same biotin amount, with iron on the label
30 mcg biotin, 18 mg iron, 25 mcg vitamin D3, 6 mcg vitamin B12, 160 mg calcium, per the brand page.

- Amazon.com one-time price $7.49 for 130 tablets
$7.49 for 130 tablets on Amazon.com, October 26, 2026
Not a hair treatment. Sold by Amazon.com. The brand page warns that iron overdose is a leading cause of fatal poisoning in children under 6. The 18 mg iron figure is from that brand page.
A wider nutrient check, including why these two pages were the ones we could open, is best multivitamin for GLP-1 users. Protein is a separate question: best protein powder for GLP-1 users.
Common questions
Will a vitamin regrow hair lost on a GLP-1?
This page has no such trial. The Zepbound label associates the hair-loss reports with weight reduction. The bottles here are printed for the biotin line, not for a hair result.
How often was hair loss reported on Zepbound?
In the pool of Study 1 and Study 2, 7.1% of women and 0.5% of men on Zepbound, against 1.3% and 0% on placebo. Table 1 lists 5%, 4% and 5% by the 5 mg, 10 mg and 15 mg groups, against 1% on placebo.
What does the Wegovy label say?
In the adult 2.4 mg trials, hair loss was 3% on Wegovy and 1% on placebo. In the pediatric trial, 4% and 0%. The label says trial rates are not directly compared across drugs.
Does biotin grow hair?
This page has no trial that shows that. FDA's 2019 communication is about wrong lab results, including a falsely low troponin test, at high biotin doses.
How much biotin does FDA say does not typically interfere?
0.03 mg a day. The two tablets here list 30 mcg, which is the same amount. FDA is aware of hair, skin and nail pills at 20 mg, and some at up to 100 mg per pill.
Should I stop biotin before a blood test?
FDA says enough information is not available to know if stopping for any number of hours will prevent a wrong result. Tell the clinician and the lab what you take.
Sources, methodology, and changes
Methodology. On October 26, 2026 we opened the Zepbound prescribing information, the Wegovy label revised November 2025, FDA's November 5, 2019 biotin communication, and two Nature Made product pages. We did not open a hair-gummy Supplement Facts panel. Amazon.com sold the men's 90-tablet bottle, ASIN B005BD8A08, at $8.65, and the 130-tablet iron bottle, ASIN B00YMSLT88, at $7.49. Biotin amounts stay on the brand pages, because the Amazon pages did not print them. No sentence on this page claims regrowth.
